Crestline, CA – Saturday , December 14, 2019, at approximately 8:15 a.m. deputies from the Twin Peaks Sheriff Station responded to the report of a man down in a driveway of a residence at 700 block of Dear Trail. San Bernardino County Fire personnel responded to the location and pronounced the male victim, later identified as Kaleb Aurelio, a 16 year old resident of Twin Peaks, deceased.
A Coroner Investigator responded to the location and found that Kaleb had a gunshot wound. Investigators from the Specialized Investigations Division, Homicide Detail were requested and responded to the location to conduct the investigation.
Through investigation they identified a nearby resident, Joshua Camacho, a 36 year old resident of Crestline as a possible suspect responsible for the the death of Kaleb. Investigators obtained a search warrant for Camacho’s residence in the 700 Block of Big Oak Road, Crestline.
Deputies from the Specialized Enforcement Division (SED) were requested and responded to assist in the investigation.
On Sunday, December 15th, a search warrant was served at Camacho’s residence, and evidence was located connecting him to the murder. Deputies from SED located Camacho at a residence in Orange County, he was transported to Sheriff’s Headquarters and interviewed by Homicide Investigators. At the conclusion of the interview Joshua Camacho was booked into the Central Detention Center for PC 187 Murder.
The motive remains under investigation. No additional information is available for release at this time.
