Twin Peaks, CA – On Saturday, May 25, 2019 at approximately 9:00 p.m., deputies from the Twin Peaks Sheriff’s Station responded to the Mountain High Market, in the community of Twin Peaks, reference a armed robbery. The suspect — Bryan Scott Rick, a 28 year old resident of Crestline, CA — entered the market with a large hunting knife in his hand and demanded the employee open the cash register and give him the money inside. Rick fled the location with an unknown amount of cash and miscellaneous store property.
On Sunday, May 26, 2019 at about 1:00 p.m., deputies observed Rick driving a vehicle on Highway 138, in the community of Crestline. Deputies attempted a traffic stop but Rick failed to yield. In an apparent attempt to avoid apprehension, Rick drove recklessly into oncoming traffic and accelerated to a high rate of speed in dense fog. During a short pursuit, Rick lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a dirt embankment where he was arrested without further incident. During the investigation, deputies confirmed the vehicle was recently stolen from the City of Riverside. While searching the vehicle, deputies located a large hunting knife on the passenger seat.
Rick was arrested for armed robbery, possession of a stolen vehicle, evading with disregard for public safety, and felony driving a motor vehicle while under the influence. Rick was transported to West Valley Detention Center, where he is being held on a $350,000 bail.
