Lake Arrowhead, CA – On Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at about 8:26 a.m., school officials from Rim of the World High School contacted the Sheriff’s Department regarding a student threatening to kill a teacher. The 16 year old juvenile was detained by school staff prior to law enforcement’s arrival. Deputies responded to the school and contacted the juvenile, the teacher and several witnesses.
The juvenile was taken into custody, no weapons were found in his possession. During a search of his residence, deputies located a 12-gauge shotgun with ammunition in his bedroom. His guardian was unaware that he had possession of a firearm. The serial numbers were altered on the shotgun, leading deputies to believe the shotgun may be stolen.
The juvenile was arrested, transported and booked into San Bernardino County Juvenile Hall for threatening a school official, criminal threats, and possession of a firearm.
