Twin Peaks, CA – An undercover operation by Twin Peaks Sheriff’s deputies lead to the arrest of a 40-year-old man for allegedly stealing a Ariens Snow Thrower from a residence in Twin Peaks earlier this month.
A relative of the victim discovered a snow thrower with the same make and model on Craig’s List and passed the information along to deputies. The listed was posted on November 10.
SUSPECT CONTACTED
A media advisory reports that Deputy Jason Mascetti contacted the seller — identified as Ryan Edward Westenhaver — and made arrangements to view the snow thrower at a Twin Peaks address.
Deputies Mascetti, Freddy Perez and William Zerbe conducted an undercover operation and positively identified the snow blower as belonging to the unnamed female victim.
THE ARREST
Westenhaver was arrested in the 200 block of La Casita Drive in Twin Peaks at 3 p.m. on Veterans Day for being in possession of stolen property.
He was booked at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga for the stolen property. Booking records show he was also detained on an active warrant for an unrelated burglary.
He was released from custody at 4:39 p.m. on November 12.
At press time, no court hearing had been scheduled and the bail amount was not available.
