Lake Arrowhead, CA – On Friday, May 26, 2017, at about 12:30 p.m., the Twin Peaks Sheriff’s Station received a call from a 20-year-old female victim reporting her ex-boyfriend, Joseph Williams, a 24 years old resident of Apple Valley, had sent her concerning text and picture messages. The text messages were direct threats to kill her, harm her family and conduct a “massacre” at the Lake Arrowhead Village, were she worked. Williams included pictures of an AR style rifle and a revolver to show he had the means to carry out the threats. Williams also claimed to have thousands of rounds of ammunition.

Deputies from the Twin Peaks Station and the Sheriff’s Specialized Enforcement Division responded to the threats. Deputies were strategically placed to ensure the public’s safety at the Lake Arrowhead Village and to protect the victim.

Williams was arrested when he returned to his residence in the Pioneer Trailer Park, on Pioneer Road in Apple Valley. Deputies served a search warrant at Williams’ residence for the firearms. An AR style .22 caliber rifle, a .357 revolver, and ammunition for each caliber were seized.

Deputies also discovered a Honey Oil Lab inside the residence. A Honey Oil Lab is a dangerous method used to extract hash oil from marijuana and commonly results in explosions.

Williams was on felony probation in San Bernardino County for a previous domestic violence conviction, and had a current criminal protective order against him, which prohibited him from possessing firearms.

Williams is being held in custody in lieu of $200,000 bail.
