Mountain Communities – The CHP will be conducting a sobriety/drivers license checkpoint on Saturday, May 21, in the unincorporated mountain area of San Bernardino County. The exact location is not announced.
The goal of the checkpoint — which will be staffed by the Arrowhead CHP office — is to ensure the safe passage of each and every motorist in the mountain communities.
“A sobriety checkpoint,” according to the media release issued by CHP Officer Juan Quintero, “is a proven effective tool for achieving this goal and is designated to augment existing patrol operations. The CHP will be keeping a close eye out for impaired drivers.
“The checkpoint is designed to augment existing patrol operations,” Quintero added.
Drivers who are under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs can be expected to be arrested, Quintero emphasized in his media advisory.
