Big Bear City, CA – A 25-year-old Big Bear City man — identified by authorities as Patrick Muck — has been charged with felony child abuse and is in custody at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga.
THE INCIDENT
A media advisory issued by the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station indicates deputies responded to the 900 block of Wendy Avenue in Big Bear City on Friday, December 4, at 2:27 p.m,
The initial call was for a reported disturbance.
“While investigating the disturbance deputies noticed a 7-month-old infant at the residence. The infant had bruising and swelling to the head and face along with swelling in the torso area,” the release noted.
EMERGENCY RESPONSE
Paramedics were summoned to the residence and transported the infant t9o Bear Valley Community Hospital for initial treatment.
However, the release reported that due to the injuries the infant was transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center for additional treatment and evaluation.
INVESTIGATION AND ARREST
Authorities interviewed Much and through investigation determined the father had allegedly caused the infant’s injuries.
Muck was arrested and booked at the Big Bear Jail at 11:30 p.m. on felony charges of child abuse.
The father remains in custody at West Valley on $100,000 bail.
COURT HEARING
Court documents indicate that Muck is scheduled to be arraigned by video on Tuesday, December 8 at 12:30 p.m.
