Yucaipa, CA – The man wanted for shooting at a deputy sheriff has been found dead.

San Bernardino Country Sheriff’s deputies report 52-year-old Brian David Forrett was found slumped over the steering wheel of his car in the Barton Flats area of Highway 38. The roadway was closed for a short period during the initial investigation.
Forrett was wanted in connection with the attempted murder of a sheriff’s deputy, Friday in Yucaipa, firing shorts that shattered the windshield of the patrol unit. The female deputy was not injured in the shootout. The suspect then fled the scene and a massive search had been underway for Forrett and his white Buick sedan.
