San Bernardino, CA – The so-called Twinkies Bandit returns to court on April 25 for a disposition/reset hearing.

Charles Ortez, 62, is charged with allegedly robbing Mountain High Market in Twin Peaks on Monday, October 1, 2012, of Twinkies, milk, Coke, whiskey and cash. The incident took place just minutes before the market was scheduled to close for the night, according to police documents.

The defendant — who has entered a plea of not guilty to all charges — remains in custody at the Central Detention Center in San Bernardino with bail set at $500,000.

COURT APPEARANCE

The disposition/reset hearing for Ortez will begin at 8:30 a.m. in Department S-21.

Ortez’ last court appearance, on March 21 before Judge Kenneth Barr, involved a verbal defense motion by Deputy Public Defender Scott Roberts to delay the disposition/reset hearing until April 25. That motion was granted by Judge Barr.
